The module detects the memory size automatically. The manufacturer lists applications across markets, including passenger vehicles, trucks and special-purpose equipment. A full read takes approximately one hour; writing passenger-vehicle and truck ECUs usually takes 10–15 minutes. Some SH7059 ECUs used in special-purpose equipment take about one hour to write.

SH7055 is read-only; writing is not available.
